Alan (Aubigny) De was born about 1173 in Of, Belvoir, Leicestershire, England.  Alan (Aubigny) De's father was William "Earl Of Arundel" D' AUBIGNY Earl of Sussex and his mother was Maud de SAINT HILARY. He had two brothers and two sisters, named William D', Godfrey (Aubigny) De, Matilda d' and Avice (aGNES).  He was the third oldest of the five children. He had five half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Richard De, James De, Roger De, John De, Henry De, Aveline de and Mable De.
