Joshua Benton was born on November 21st, 1850 in Gibson Co, TN. Joshua Benton's father was Daniel West and his mother was Martha A. Lea. His paternal grandparents were John William West and Elizabeth Frazier. He had three brothers and two sisters, named John Wyatt, Calvin Chester, Lee A., Mary and Nancy. He was the third youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 31 on March 25th, 1882 in Gibson Co, TN.-
