Charles Merrill was born on April 18th, 1793 in Monson, Hampden Co, MA. Charles Merrill's father was John Squire and his mother was Sousanna Riddle ***. His paternal grandparents were John Squire and Millicent Scott. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Alfred, Calvin, Aaron, Elijah Riddle, James Sullivan, Edward Turner, Olive, Polly, Susanne, Elizah and Ruby. He was the fifth oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 50 on March 26th, 1844 in Newbury, Lake Co, OH.-
