Phillip was born on March 20th, 1671 in Newbury, Essex, MA. Phillip's father was Phillip Squire and his mother was Rachel Ruggles. His paternal grandparents were Rev Thomas Squire and Jane Jackson; his maternal grandparents were George Ruggles and Elizabeth Rugg ***. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Grizzell, William, John, Ebenezer, Rachel Ruggles, Elizabeth, Jane and Mary Squire. He was the fourth oldest of the nine children. He had five half-sisters named Margaret, Sarah, Prudence, Hannah and Jane.-
