Josias was born in 1568. Josias' father was Thomas H. Holcombe and his mother was Margaret Trethford. His paternal grandparents were Ellis Holcombe and Elizaberh Sydenham ***; his maternal grandparents were Raymond Trethurffe *** and Elizabeth Courtenay. He had two brothers named Christopher and Gilbert. He was the youngest of the three children.-
