Sara Belle was born in 1851. Sara Belle's father was Thomas R. Gheen and her mother was Ann Shaw. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas R. Gheen and Hannah Pence; her maternal grandparents were Hugh Shaw and Elizabeth Finley. She had six brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, David W,, William Joseph, John, George M., Jesse A., Hannah A., Mary, Jane, Susannah and Elizabeth. She was the fourth youngest of the twelve children.-
