Gilbert Basset 
Gilbert was born in 1101 in Drayton-Bassett, Stafford, Eng. Gilbert's father was Ralph Basset and his mother was Alice de Buci. His paternal grandfather was Thurston Basset. He had four brothers named Richard, Thurstine, Nicholas and Thomas. He was the oldest of the five children. He died after 1155.
They had a son and a daughter, named Lord Thomas and Joan.
