Joseph was born about 1852. Joseph's father was John Mitchell and his mother was Cosbie\Causby WORKMAN. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Mitchell and Elender Nellie Williamson. He had four brothers and a sister, named Albert, Pierce, Ira, George and Nancy. He was the second oldest of the six children. He had a half-brother named Joseph Man.General Notes
