Ira was born about 1856. Ira's father was John Mitchell and his mother was Cosbie\Causby WORKMAN. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Mitchell and Elender Nellie Williamson. He had four brothers and a sister, named Albert, Joseph, Pierce, George and Nancy. He was the third youngest of the six children. He had a half-brother named Joseph Man.General Notes
