William Henry Grubbs 
William Henry was born on December 17th, 1840 in Alabama.1 William Henry's father was Toliver Hedgepath, Sr. Grubbs and his mother was Jemima Caroline Pannell. His paternal grandparents were Enoch II Grubbs and Sarah Rhoda Parnell. He had three brothers and a sister, named James, ZACHARIAH, Toliver Hedgepath Jr. and Mary. He was the oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 64 on February 18th, 1905 in Pontotoc County, Mississippi. wilth William H. Grubbs and Susan ? Maiden Name Grubbs. Father was born
in SC. Mother was born in SC.
2) September 01, 1995 - Index of Marriages - CD #5, W. H. Grubbs married
to a Miss. C. M. Roberts on September 14, 1863
3) September 02, 1995 - Census of 1910 - Pontotoc Co - ED #100 - Sheet
#4 - Reel #38. Mother Susan Grubbs is living with the Carl V. Grubbs
family and is 58 years old. (This could indicate that William H. Grubbs
died before 1910.)
4) November 28, 1995 - Letter from Betty Jean Tabor indicates that
Idelle Scruggs' (Grubbs) father (William Grubbs) was a full blooded
Indian, probably Choctaw. Many other interesting notes can be found in
this letter. The letter is in the Scott Family file.
5) August 15, 1996 - "Mississippi Confederate Pension Applications" -
Book 929.362 W756mc v.1, at the Memphis Public Library - Main Branch has
W. H. Grubbs - 1900 - 31st MS - Pontotoc.
6) November 18, 1996 - MS State Department of Archives and History,
Jackson, MS, Confederate Soldiers serving from MS has information about
W. H. Grubbs indicating that he enlisted on February 18, 1863 in Company
K of the 31st Regiment. ABOVE INFO FROM WFT, VOL #15, PEDIGREE 3283.
William Henry is cited in the above named tree. Otis Grubbs had him as
Henry Toliver. I believe the William Henry name is most correct. RWM 2002
Alabama is his birthplace according to the 1850 census. See THGrubb's
census info. His birthdate is suggested as 1840 in the 1850 census
