Mary Lay Bowden

Mary Lay was born in 1847 in Gum Log, Pope Co., AR.¹   Mary Lay's father was Jackson J. Bowden.  Her paternal grandfather was John Bodine. She had eight brothers and four sisters, named James T., Robert Sanders, Benjamin Franklin, Charles D., George A., Anthon C., Miles E., Jackson J., Ann, Nancy J., Sarah and Sallie F..  She was the third oldest of the thirteen children.  She died at the age of 26 in 1873 in Pope Co., AR.¹
