Thomas was born on April 29th, 1788.1   Thomas' father was Thomas Hawke and his mother was Jane Gilbert. He had six brothers and four sisters, named John, Philip, Samuel, George, Robert, William, Ann, Jenifer, Philippa and Jane.  He was the third oldest of the eleven children.
