Thomas was born about 1694 in ,of New Castle,Delaware,England. Thomas' father was John I Cox and his mother was Rachel Embree Carr. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Cox and Christian Matthews. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Richard, William C., John II, Sarah and Amy. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Joseph and Ann. He died after 1774 in Craven Co.
