Tamar Varner 
Tamar was born about 1847 in Monroe County, Ohio.1 Tamar's father was Samuel Varner and her mother was Mary Hogue. Her paternal grandparents were John Varner and Sarah Moore; her maternal grandparents were Miller Hogue and Tracy Wilson. She had three brothers and two sisters, named William (possibly Wilson), Samuel Varner, Robert, Lucy and Sarah. She was the youngest of the six children.
‌Tamar and Augustus M. were married in a religious ceremony on August 20th, 1865.1
