Peninah Dilley 
Peninah was born on July 25th, 1801 in Botetourt County, Virginia.1 Peninah's father was Jr. Dilley John and her mother was Elizabeth Ackland aka Eckland. Her paternal grandparents were Sr. Dilley John and Catherine Himpin; her maternal grandfather was Christian Ackland aka Eckland. She had five brothers and five sisters, named Joseph A, Barnett, James, Abner, Bird, Hannah, Elizabeth, Anna, Catherine and Diana. She was the fourth oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 84 on February 1st, 1886 in Lawrence County, Ohio.1 
Peninah and Martial were married in a religious ceremony on September 1st, 1823 in Lawrence County, Ohio.1 They had five sons and five daughters, named Fletcher, Charles, William C, Thomas, Harrison, Lourinda, Arvilla, Frances, Ann Elizabeth and Mahala Jane.
