Joseph A Dilley 
Joseph A was born in 1793 in Botetourt County, Virginia.1 Joseph A's father was Jr. Dilley John and his mother was Elizabeth Ackland aka Eckland. His paternal grandparents were Sr. Dilley John and Catherine Himpin; his maternal grandfather was Christian Ackland aka Eckland. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Barnett, James, Abner, Bird, Hannah, Peninah, Elizabeth, Anna, Catherine and Diana. He was the oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 86 on March 16th, 1879 in Allegheny County, Maryland.1 
‌Joseph A and Elizabeth were married in a religious ceremony on September 1st, 1817 in Allegheny County, Maryland.1 They had two sons and three daughters, named John Franklin, Barney, Armida Elizabeth, Margaret and Minerva.
