Mary Magdalene was born in 1799 in Danbury,Stokes County,NC. Mary Magdalene's father was William Boyles and her mother was Sarah Hampton. Her paternal grandparents were William Boyles and Eve UNKNOWN; her maternal grandparents were John Hampton and Ann Croasdale. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, James, Joel, William, Elizabeth and Sally. She was the second youngest of the seven children. She had a half-sister named Elizabeth. She died at the age of 63 in 1862 in Marshalltown,Marshall County,IA buried at Bethel Grove Cemetary.-
