  Jane Powell was born Jan 5 1855 at Schuyler County,
  Missouri and died at her home northwest of Neola, IA at
  1:00 Sunday afternoon Dec. 24, 1911. She was laid to rest
  Wednesday afternoon at Grange Cemetery following short
  services at the home and later at Boomer Church conducted
  by Rev. F. C. Tyler. With her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles
  Powell, she came to Iowa in her early girlhood, located on
  a farm in this vicinity and received her education in the
  district schools. She was married to Joseph Welbourn May
  25, 1872. Mr. and Mr.s Welbourn lived for a short tiem on a
  nearby farm but later moved to the Welbourn homestead a few
  miles northwest fo Neola where the family has since
  resided. Fourteen children were born to this union, 9
  daughters and 5 sons. Eleven survie. They are Grace Mott,
  Esther Delanty, Lucy Willmott, Hannah Henry, Daisy
  Willmoth, Josephine McKeown, Ruth Welbourn and Fred,
  Herbert, Maurice and Harvey. She is also survied by her
  husband, five borthers and two sisters, J. Powell, Neola,
  Dick Powell, of Gregory, South Dakota, William Powell of
  Wales, South Dakota, Charles Powell of Duleth MI, Richard
  Pwoell of Gergory S.D. and Mrs. matilda Riley and Mrs.
  Martha Thomas of Long Pine Nebraska. Mrs. Welbourn had
  retired one evening before her death in her usual good
  health when Miss Ruth was awakened by her mother's
  distress. The daughter attempted to arouse her mother but
  the latter remained unconscious until her death. Mrs.
  Welbourn was a woamn of exemplary character, beloved in her
  home, and highly esteemed by our people, many of whom
  enjoyed her acquaintance. The sorrowing family and
  relatives have the deepest sympathy of our people in their
