William Spears

William was born in 1822 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.¹   William's father was Samuel Spears and his mother was Rebecca Smith.  His paternal grandmother was Rosina Spears. He had a brother and four sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named John, Spears, Matilda, Spears, Matilda and Spears.  He was the second youngest of the seven children. He had four half-brothers and three half-sisters, named David, Lazarus, Jesse, William, Phereba, Nancy Ann and Lucy.
