Thomas Sims 
Thomas was born in 1702 in Charles County, Maryland.1 Thomas' father was John Semmes and his mother was Mary Higdon. His paternal grandparents were Marmaduke Semmes and Fortune Watson; his maternal grandparents were John Higdon and Millicent. He had a brother and three sisters, named Claiborne, Anne, Rebecca and Mary. He was the oldest of the five children.
