Pink was born about 1873 in Of, Bourbon, Kentucky.1 Pink's father was Augustus Shropshire and her mother was Fanny Forrester. Her paternal grandparents were Benjamin Thomas Shropshire and Elizabeth Jane Smith; her maternal grandfather was R. H. Forrester. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Robert, Benjamin, Palmer, Garrett, Ida and Fanny. She was the fourth oldest of the seven children.-
