William Shoemaker

William was born in 1824 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.¹   William's father was Daniel Jacob Shoemaker and his mother was Jane Harris.  His paternal grandfather was John Shoemaker. He had two brothers and a sister, named Thomas, John and Margaret.  He was the youngest of the four children. He had a half-brother and five half-sisters, named James, Elizabeth, Winifred, Nancy, Jane and Mary.
