James Shoemaker

James was born in 1802 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.¹   James' father was Daniel Jacob Shoemaker and his mother was Mary Easley.  His paternal grandfather was John Shoemaker; his maternal grandparents were Robert Easley and Winifred Dixon. He had five sisters named Elizabeth, Winifred, Nancy, Jane and Mary.  He was the third oldest of the six children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Thomas, John, William and Margaret.  He died at the age of 76 in 1878.¹
