Minnie J. was born about 1857 in ,Bourbon, Kentucky.¹   Minnie J.'s father was James S. Moore and her mother was Martha A. Crouch.  Her paternal grandparents were Elisha Moore and Elizabeth Money. She had three brothers and a sister, named Sherman B., Allie E., Clarence E. and Rosa E..  She was the oldest of the five children. She had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named George A., James M., W. L., Matilda F., Mary E. and Martha A..
