Sarah McLain

Sarah was born in 1843 in Of, Hawkins, Tennessee.¹ Sarah's father was Clark McLain and her mother was Susannah. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas McLain and Elizabeth Doty. She had eight brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, Hiram, Jacob, Joseph M., George, John, Wade H., Luke, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Mary Ann, Deborah and Margaret. She was the seventh oldest of the fourteen children.
