Francis Marion Klepper

Francis Marion was born in 1847 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.¹   Francis Marion's father was Peter Klepper and his mother was Mary Pilant.  His maternal grandfather was Joseph Pilant. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Joseph, Cornelius Or Nealy, Susan, Phebe, Sarah, Martha Ellen and Barbara.  He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He had three half-brothers and eight half-sisters, named Barnabus M., William, John M., Mary Or Polly, Nancy, Elizabeth, Jane, Katherine, Lourana, Susannah and Margaret.
