John Newton Gardner

John Newton was born in 1901 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.¹ John Newton's father was Jacob Tillman Gardner and his mother was Hila Luster. His paternal grandparents were James Gardner and Anna Myers. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Arthur E., Willie H., Lowery Rexall, Homer Cecil, Rome Homer, James Rolla, Joseph Jacob, Martha E., Della Grace, Mary Ethel and Minnie Bell. He was the third youngest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 19 in 1920.¹
