John Dykes

John was born in 1826 in Greene Co., TN.¹ John's father was William Dykes and his mother was Jennie Gallemore. His paternal grandparents were William Dykes and Susannah Lankford. He had two brothers and nine sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Andrew Jackson, Clabourn, Sarah, Mahala, Anna, Elizabeth, Dykes, Molly, Martha, Susan Amanda, Dykes and Dykes. He was the fifth youngest of the thirteen children.
