Bruce Bowmer Combest 
Bruce Bowmer was born on March 23rd, 1863 in Pana, Illinois.1 Bruce Bowmer's father was Mathias Combest and his mother was Louisa E. Chastine. His paternal grandparents were James Combest and Nancy Bowmer; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Chastine and Susan D. \\. He had two brothers named Charles C. and Frank M.. He was the second oldest of the three children. He died due to pneumonia at the age of 36 on January 28th, 1900.1 General Notes

According to pictures in the possession of Claire Combest Baber, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bruce was quite a talented violinist. Claire's family has his small violin. He had light blue eyes and brown hair. The marriage license of Bruce and Clara lists his occupation as "soldier" although, to the knowledge of the family, he was a harness maker and had a good-sized shop, according to pictures.
