John Childress

John was born in 1853 in ,Bourbon, Kentucky.¹   John's father was Philip G. Childress and his mother was Amanda Wheatley.  His paternal grandfather was John Childress; his maternal grandfather was Daniel Wheatley. He had a brother and two sisters, named James, Susan and Caroline.  He was the youngest of the four children.
