Martha Amanda Bowery

Martha Amanda was born on August 13th, 1869 in Tennessee.¹   Martha Amanda's father was Samuel Bowery and her mother was Frances Rhea Rogers.  Her paternal grandparents were Conrad Russell Bowery and Sarah Shipley; her maternal grandparents were David Rogers and Lydia Sampson. She had seven brothers and a sister, named George James, John B., David Conrad, Thomas A., William, Samuel Miller, Wesley D. and Emeline.  She was the fifth oldest of the nine children.
