Mary Akard 
Mary was born in 1776 in Pennsylvania.1 Mary's father was Jacob Aeckard and her mother was Susanna Margaretha Latture. Her maternal grandparents were Johannes Hermannus Latture and Catherine Barbara Spickler. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Frederick Douglas, Jacob, John, Adam, Mariah Elizabeth and Catherine. She died at the age of 74 in 1850.1
