Sylvia Cates 
Sylvia was born in 1756 in Orange Co NC. Sylvia's father was Thomas Cates and her mother was Rebecca Sykes. Her paternal grandparents were Robert Ezra Cates and Mary Ann Randall; her maternal grandfather was Bernard Sykes III. She had three brothers named Thomas, Bernard and John. She was the youngest of the four children. She died at the age of 84 in 1840 in Orange Co NC.-
