Gertrude Louisa was born on January 18th, 1900 in Johnsonville, Wayne, Illinois. Gertrude Louisa's father was James Franklin Shehorn and her mother was Mary Ann Leathers. Her paternal grandparents were Giles Harrison Shehorn and Ammogine Horton; her maternal grandparents were John W. Leathers and Nancy Jane Hale. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Samuel Russell, Giles Wesley, Bertha Angeline and Beulah Ruth. She was the oldest of the five children. She had two half-brothers named Isaac and Roy Taze. She died at the age of 22 on February 19th, 1922 in Rinard, Wayne, Illinois.-
