Sarah Shanks 
Sarah was born in 1854 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Sarah's father was Michael Shanks and her mother was Leah. Her paternal grandparents were Christian Shanks and Margaret Pearson. She had seven brothers and two sisters, named Christian, William, Henry, Michael, Thomas, Franklin, Doctor, Harriet and Jane. She was the youngest of the ten children.
