Jane Shanks 
Jane was born in 1836 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Jane's father was Michael Shanks and her mother was Leah. Her paternal grandparents were Christian Shanks and Margaret Pearson. She had seven brothers and two sisters, named Christian, William, Henry, Michael, Thomas, Franklin, Doctor, Harriet and Sarah. She was the second oldest of the ten children.
