Robert was born on September 1st, 1802 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Robert's father was Joseph Rogers and his mother was Mary Amis. His paternal grandparents were James Rogers and Elizabeth Brown; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Amis and Alice Gale. He had four brothers and nine sisters, named James, John Alexander, Thomas Amis, Joseph, Eliza M., Rachel, Frances Grantham, Margaret E., Lucy, Alice Gale, Louisiana N., Malinda and Nancy F.. He was the fifth youngest of the fourteen children. He died at 11 months old on August 11th, 1803 in Rogersville, Hawkins, Tennessee.-
