William Pilant 
William was born in 1843 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. William's father was John Pilant and his mother was Mahala. His paternal grandfather was Joseph Pilant. He had three brothers and five sisters, named James, John, Joseph, Orlena, Elizabeth, Susan, Nancy and Mariah Jane. He was the fourth youngest of the nine children.-
