William McLain 
William was born in 1821 in Of, Hawkins, Tennessee. William's father was Joseph McLain and his mother was Cassandra. His paternal grandparents were Thomas McLain and Elizabeth Doty. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, Stephen, Cassandra, Nancy, Elizabeth and Mary. He was the oldest of the seven children.
