John Bell Dykes 
John Bell was born in 1860 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. John Bell's father was Thomas Dykes and his mother was Rebecca Shipley. His paternal grandparents were John Netherland Dykes and Juda Morelock; his maternal grandparents were John Berry Shipley and Abigail Harvey. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Henry Alvus, Wesley H., Spencer Ball, Tolbert, Dykes, Sarah Esther, Adria Jane, Emma and Laura Caldonia. He was the oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 72 in 1932 in Washington D.C..-
