Emma Dykes 
Emma was born in 1875 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Emma's father was Thomas Dykes and her mother was Rebecca Shipley. Her paternal grandparents were John Netherland Dykes and Juda Morelock; her maternal grandparents were John Berry Shipley and Abigail Harvey. She had six brothers and three sisters, named John Bell, Henry Alvus, Wesley H., Spencer Ball, Tolbert, Dykes, Sarah Esther, Adria Jane and Laura Caldonia. She was the fourth youngest of the ten children.-
