Mary Jane was born on October 31st, 1823 in Scottish Ridge, Monroe Co, AL . Mary Jane 's father was Stephen Singleton ANDRESS and her mother was Susanna Jane McCOY. Her paternal grandparents were Stephen ANDRESS and Nancy Ann SINGLETON; her maternal grandparents were Redden McCOY and Susan PRINGLE . She had six brothers and four sisters, and also two siblings of unknown gender, named Francis Marion , Stephen Decatur, Hampton Monroe, Redden McCoy , William Potts , Joseph Nettles , Susanah Caroline , Lucy A. , Nancy Jane , Nancy Elizabeth , Infant and Infant. She was the second oldest of the thirteen children. She died at the age of 38 on June 19th, 1862 in Monroe Co., AL .-
