Hampton Monroe was born in 1830 in Scottish Ridge, Monroe Co, AL . Hampton Monroe's father was Stephen Singleton ANDRESS and his mother was Susanna Jane McCOY. His paternal grandparents were Stephen ANDRESS and Nancy Ann SINGLETON; his maternal grandparents were Redden McCOY and Susan PRINGLE . He had five brothers and five sisters, and also two siblings of unknown gender, named Francis Marion , Stephen Decatur, Redden McCoy , William Potts , Joseph Nettles , Mary Jane , Susanah Caroline , Lucy A. , Nancy Jane , Nancy Elizabeth , Infant and Infant. He was the sixth oldest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 19 on January 25th, 1849.General Notes
