Her paternal grandparents were Hans Michael Stocker and Maria Remp. She had seven brothers and five sisters, named Michael Jr., John, George, Adam, Jacob, Henry, Andreas, Anna Margaretha, Anna Maria, Maria Barbara, Nancy Catherine and Eva Christine. She was the oldest of the thirteen children.-
