Maria Barbara was born on September 20th, 1730 in Mitschdorf, Alsace, Germany. Maria Barbara's father was Michael Stocker and her mother was Anna Margaretha Stephan. Her paternal grandparents were Hans Michael Stocker and Maria Remp. She had seven brothers and five sisters, named Michael Jr., John, George, Adam, Jacob, Henry, Andreas, Maria Catherine, Anna Margaretha, Anna Maria, Nancy Catherine and Eva Christine. She was the fifth oldest of the thirteen children.-
