Jacob was born in 1738 in Hereford Twp, Berks Co, PA. Jacob's father was Michael Stocker and his mother was Anna Margaretha Stephan. His paternal grandparents were Hans Michael Stocker and Maria Remp. He had six brothers and six sisters, named Michael Jr., John, George, Adam, Henry, Andreas, Maria Catherine, Anna Margaretha, Anna Maria, Maria Barbara, Nancy Catherine and Eva Christine. He was the fourth youngest of the thirteen children.-
