Michael Kesney was born in 1813. Michael Kesney's father was Moses Criss and his mother was Charity Sharp. His paternal grandparents were Lewis Criss and Christina Clouster; his maternal grandparents were Aaron J. Sharp and Elizabeth Sarah Ashcraft. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Lewis, John T, Moses S, Noah, William, Aaron, Elizabeth R., Barbara, Christina Barbara, Sarah and Mary Ann. He was the third oldest of the twelve children.-
