Elizabeth Jane was born in 1841. Elizabeth Jane's father was Lewis Criss and her mother was Sarah Sharp. Her paternal grandparents were Moses Criss and Charity Sharp; her maternal grandparents were John D. Sharp and Barbara Criss. She had five brothers and five sisters, named Francis Marion, John William, Peter, Benjamin Franklin, Dennis H., Helen, Mary Angeline, Ruemma, Eleanor Jane and Romonza E.. She was the sixth oldest of the eleven children.-
