James Anderson was born about 1814 in Cabarrus Co, NC.1 James Anderson's father was Nathaniel Sims and his mother was UNKNOWN Wife. His paternal grandparents were Anderson Sims and Martha Spain. He had a brother and three sisters, named Samuel, Rebecca, Prudence N. and Harriet. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Nathaniel Mack, William M. and Ann M..General Notes

Ja mes, b. about 1815, may be the son of Nathaniel, b. about 1794. James
gives his birthplace as Cabarrus County on the 1850 Census of Cabarrus
County, and Nathaniel (born in Wake Co) was the only Sims living in
Cabarrus County in 1 820; however there was an Anderson Sims, b. between
1756 and 1774, on the 181 0 census who appears to be Nathaniel's father.
Anderson Sims was married to Ma rtha "Patsey" Barnett August 22, 1790 in
Wake Co. LDS Ancestral file says Ma rtha died in Bedford County Tennessee
in 1836. Only Anderson female 45+ on 1 820 Bedford Census is in household
of Anderson Sims (Jr?) b. between 1795 and 1804.
