Martha Pearl Phillips 
Martha Pearl was born on February 28th, 1914 in Lamar County, Texas.1 Martha Pearl's father was James Atha Phillips and her mother was Linnie I McKinney. Her paternal grandparents were Christopher Columbus Phillips and Martha Jane Hunsucker. She had five sisters named Ivory Bell, Ruby Jim, Billie, Loreen and Beulah. She died at the age of 82 on February 28th, 1996 in Powderly, Texas. She was buried on March 1st, 1996 in Evergreen Cemetery, Lamar County, Texas.1 1 General Notes

Phillips Beard, 82, of Powderly died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 1996, at 4:25
a.m . at McCuistion Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at 2
p.m. Frid ay, March 1, in Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Jones
officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will
receive friends from 7- 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Beard
was born Jan. 28, 1914, a dau ghter of J.A. and Linnie McKinney Phillips.
She was a member of Powderly Bapt ist Church. For many years she worked in
sales with her husband for Lily Sale s. She married William L. Beard April
9, 1934, in Antles, OK. Surviving are h er husband; four
children, Jane Whitesides of Memphis, TN, Peggy Stinson, Bill y Beard and
Susan Snodgrass, all of Paris; two sisters, Lorene Foreman and Be ulah
Bryant, both of Paris; 11 grandchildren, Cynthia Byrd, Nancy Clark, Pam
Golding,, Misti Clark, Jamie Galyon, Tammy Nichols, Eric Snodgrass,
Patric [sic] Snodgrass, Bradley Snodgrass, Shelley Lackie and Wendy
Stinson; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three
sisters, Iva Hogle, R uby Adair and Billie Smith. Pallbearers will be
Steve Byrd, Kerry Clark, Mike Golding, Jeff Lackie, Scott Galyon, Lat
Nichols and Mike Clark.'
